Successful
case of Alopecia Areata

A 25-year-old male patient came for consultation in 2022, complaining of alopecia areata persisting for the past 3 years. He took antibiotics for a cold, which subsequently triggered erectile dysfunction and caused significant mental stress. He started studying about these problems. He noticed a small bald spot on the back of his head. He tried homeopathic treatment first, but it didn't help much, so he went to a different homeopathic doctor who gave him a bit of relief. About a year ago, he started taking allopathic medicine or steroids, and it helped him at first, but then his hair started falling out again. Over the last 6 months, he lost a lot of hair, which made him really stressed out because of his baldness. He also feels anxious. He tried many treatments, but nothing worked. He felt really sad and hopeless. Then he met Dr. Rashmi.

Initially presenting with a carefree personality, he later became anxiety-prone, particularly when unable to achieve goals or due to his alopecia condition. Anger tendencies increased, alongside a fear of experiencing erectile dysfunction (ED). He used to cry a lot at night because he feels like he can’t live a normal life and feels embarrassed about his hair loss.

Past medical history includes alopecia areata diagnosed in 2011, but nobody else in his family has this problem. He reports decreased appetite, with a thirst for approximately 1 litre of normal room temperature water. Urination and stools are normal, but constipation occurs, with bowel movements happening 2-3 times. There’s a desire for sweets, and there is sadness related to the condition (alopecia). He exhibits a chilly temperament, along with increased anger, impatience, and non-communicative behaviour regarding feelings. Weeping occurs when alone, and he is sensitive to negative thinking. He’s also afraid of heights. He also has problems with his nails, which are brittle and distorted. He sweats a lot from his hands and feet, and he’s afraid he might get sick.

With our Holistic and individualistic approach, combined with the patient’s full cooperation, he successfully regrew his hair over time.
