What is Epidermoid cyst?
  1. An epidermoid cyst is a benign cyst usually found on the skin. The cyst develops from ectodermal tissue, it occurs due to implantation of epidermoid elements into the dermis. Histologically, it is made up of thin layer of squamous epithelium.

Appearance:
  1. Round, mobile, smooth surface mass. Slow growing lesion, from 5 mm to 5 cm in diameter.

What causes epidemoid cyst ?
 1)  Trauma
2) Surgery
3) Blocked pore
4) Adjacent to body piercing.
 They can be infected by bacteria and form a pimple like shape, may hurt when touched and it can release pus.
Diagnosis:
 Epidermoid cysts are usually diagnosed when a person notices a bump, usually on their skin and seeks medical attention. The diagnosis is made by pathologist after excision, also seen as isotense lesions on MRI.
Management/Treatment:
 Surgical resection appears to be the main stay of treatment, however extent of resection is dictated by adherence of tumor capsule to the surrounding vital structures.
Homoeopathically the patient is treated with holistic approach. Permanent removal of the cyst without any surgical intervention is done.
